About Lisa Sargent

Fundraising copywriter.
Nonprofit author.
Dedicated donor communications specialist.

For good. For you. For a better world.

Officially? I’m an international fundraising copywriter with broad, proven experience (nearly 20 years). And I’m a nonprofit author because part of my mission is to reach more people with what I know works, because what works can help causes little and large to change everything. I’m also a nerd-level direct response donor communications specialist dedicated to helping passionate nonprofits like yours get from they are to where they want to be, through the world-changing results of individual giving and donor stewardship communications done right.

Nutshell? I make words work for good. But my creative process goes WAY deeper – with a unique approach that’s been called everything from ‘edgy’ to ‘magical.’ That means…

I’m a fundraising storyteller, to my bones. Believer in a better world. Forever a student of behavioral science, of how to deepen meaning, generosity, and lasting human connection with words and design, and with the awe and beauty of direct response – from the Johnson Box to segmentation to understanding what lights up your supporters’ hearts and brains on a reply envelope. Keeper of your mission’s most powerful stories. Caretaker of your donors’ hearts and trust. Working to infuse every communication with courage, truth, emotion, and clarity, so your donors see themselves in your work – and in seeing are inspired to act, to stay, to give.

See how it comes together in an immersive, collaborative way of helping your nonprofit, three ways: explore the services I offer to help you… browse my portfolio of case studies… or get in touch and we’ll talk.
